About The Position
The Surgical Tech supports surgical procedures in a hospital or inpatient setting by preparing and maintaining instruments, equipment, and the operating room. The role includes counting surgical items, ensuring equipment operates properly, assisting the surgical team with sterile preparation, sterilizing instruments, and restoring the operating room after procedures.
Responsibilities
- Count sponges, rags, needles, and instruments before, during, and after procedures.
- Ensure proper operation of equipment, such as lights and suction machines.
- Assist the surgical team with scrubbing in and putting on gloves and masks.
- Wash and sterilize medical instruments and equipment following surgeries.
- Clean, organize, and restock the operating room after surgical procedures.
