Expert Care Is Coming to Durbin Park. In the fall of 2026, UF Health will open UF Health Durbin Park Hospital, a transformative new health care destination in St. Johns County, Florida. Rising five stories and spanning approximately 220,000 square feet, this state-of-the-art hospital will feature 99 inpatient beds designed for comfort, innovation and exceptional outcomes. In addition, UF Health Durbin Park Hospital will feature a 24-hour Emergency Department. Requirements

• Age of Patients Served: All Age Groups.
• Required Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Specific course work: Graduate of surgical technologist program
• Strong working knowledge of patient care and basic human needs throughout the life span.
• In depth knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong working knowledge of acute and chronic disease processes.
• Knowledge of computer programs used in perioperative services.
• Demonstrates teamwork and communicates in a professional manner with all members of the healthcare team.
• Demonstrates a willingness to learn new methods, procedures and techniques resulting from departmental or organization change.
• Adapts quickly and easily to change and adjusted behavior and approach to work when necessary to achieve goals.
• Certification from NBSTSA, NCCT, or AST within 1 year of date of hire/transfer.
• BLS from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross

Responsibilities

• Assist the surgeon(s) by providing basic instrumentation and sterile techniques for procedures performed in the Operating Room and provide patient care in the clinical setting.
• The Surgical Tech II is also responsible for the care, handling and maintenance of basic surgical equipment and instrumentation.
• We are hiring full time day and night shift positions.
