About The Position

The Surgical Tech works alongside surgeons and registered nurses to support the safe and efficient execution of surgical procedures and contribute to positive patient outcomes. The role serves as the primary surgical scrub, prepares the operating room and supplies for procedures, maintains aseptic technique, assists with patient positioning and room turnover, transports patients to recovery or other designated areas, and cares for surgical instrumentation.

Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school for surgical technology, or have demonstrated training and experience from the military, or have demonstrated other operating room technician experience within the last year.

• Current national certification as a Surgical Technician.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary surgical scrub, anticipate the surgeon’s needs, and hand instruments and supplies to the surgeon during operative procedures.
• Set up the operating room and ensure the required equipment, instruments, packs, and supplies are operational and available for each procedure.
• Maintain aseptic technique throughout procedures to help safeguard patient safety and prevent infection.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to position patients for procedures and assist with operating room turnover.
• Transport patients safely to the recovery room or other designated areas while supporting their comfort and well-being.
• Handle, clean, and maintain instrumentation used during procedures.
