About The Position

The Full-Time Surgical Technologist Support Team Member provides flexible coverage within the Surgical Services Department by assisting with operating room operations, staff break coverage, and procedural support as needed. The position serves as a resource to the surgical team, maintaining a safe, efficient, and organized operating room environment while supporting surgeons, nurses, and other perioperative staff.

Requirements

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification is required.
• Current BLS certification is required.
• 3–5 years of CST/OR experience is required.
• Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, sterile processing principles, and operating room workflows.
• Ability to work independently and adapt to changing departmental needs.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient and employee safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide lunch and break relief.
• Fill staffing gaps as assigned.
• Assist with surgical instrument counts.
• Prepare and restock operating rooms.
• Support room turnover activities.
• Ensure proper disposal of trash, linen, biohazardous waste, and sharps in accordance with OSHA, infection prevention, and facility policies.
