About The Position

Baptist Health Floyd’s Surgical Services department is seeking a part-time Surgical Tech for its community hospital in the Southern Indiana/Louisville, Kentucky area. Under general supervision and according to established procedures, the Surgical Tech works as part of the team delivering surgical care. The role aims to anticipate the surgeon’s next move so procedures can be performed as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

The position is 48 hours biweekly, with a schedule of 6:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and weekend and holiday rotation. The organization describes the opportunity as working in a regional, nonprofit community hospital and an excellent working environment, with continued education promoted. Requirements

• Graduate of a CAAHEP- or ABHES-accredited Surgical Technology program.
• Obtain the Certified Surgical Technologist credential administered by the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) within one year of hire; in lieu of certification, 10 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist is required.
• Obtain BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA, ARC, or AHSI within 30 days of hire.
