About The Position
This position facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures within the Birth Suites department. The Surgical Tech prepares the operating suite with necessary instruments and supplies, assists the surgeon by providing instruments and supplies during surgery, and aids in patient preparation, transport, positioning, and draping. The role also involves maintaining instrument organization, monitoring instrument counts, and assisting surgeons with hemostasis during procedures.
Requirements
- BLS Provider preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- High school diploma equivalency AND completion of a surgical technologist program with a clinical component OR a minimum of 4 years of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
- Associate's degree or technical degree preferred.

Responsibilities
- Facilitates the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures
- Prepares surgical operating suite with sterile and non-sterile instruments and supplies.
- Hands required and requested instruments and supplies to surgeon during surgery.
- Assist with preparing, transporting, positioning and draping patients.
- Maintain instruments in an organized manner and monitors and tracks instruments counts throughout procedures.
- Assist surgeons provision of hemostasis during surgery
