Surgical Tech - General (Major) - SFMC – DH
About The Position
Our client, an Integrated Health System company, is looking for a Surgical Tech - General (Major) for their Peoria, IL location. This role requires a graduate of a surgical tech program and BLS certification. The common cases include Lap chole, lap colon, lap appy, cysto, DaVinci robotic cases, hysterectomy, vascular, ENT, and urology. The ideal candidate must have general surgery, urology, gyn, and ENT experience, as well as DaVinci robot experience. Candidates must be fully independent with the robot or will need to be redirected. Mids/Evenings/Night shift techs MUST have level I trauma experience. A minimum of 2 years of hospital surgical experience is required, but candidates with at least 1.5 years in a level I trauma center will be considered. The EMR system used is EPIC OP TIME.
Requirements
- Graduate of a surgical tech program
- BLS certification
- General surgery experience
- Urology experience
- Gyn experience
- ENT experience
- DaVinci robot experience (must be fully independent)
- Level I trauma experience (required for Mids/Evenings/Night shift)
- 2 years of hospital surgical experience (or 1.5 years in a level I trauma center)
- Experience with EPIC OP TIME EMR
Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons during general surgery, urology, gyn, and ENT procedures.
- Operate and maintain surgical equipment, including the DaVinci robot.
- Prepare operating rooms for procedures.
- Ensure sterile environment is maintained.
- Assist with patient care before, during, and after surgery.
