About The Position

The Surgical Services Support Technician maintains a clean, safe, and efficient environment throughout Surgical Services, supporting both the Main Operating Room and Burn Center. The role helps ensure timely waste removal, procedural room turnover, transportation of supplies and equipment, and cleanliness standards in surgical areas. The position is suited to a dependable, detail-oriented person who can respond effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment where teamwork and responsiveness support patient care.

Requirements

Ability to lift, push, pull, and transport equipment and supplies within the department.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and safety.
Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in healthcare, environmental services, housekeeping, OR support, or hospital operations.
Basic understanding of infection prevention practices.

Responsibilities

Remove trash, linen, and biohazard waste throughout Surgical Services.
Clean and prepare operating and procedure rooms between cases to support efficient room turnover.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of surgical suites, work areas, storage rooms, and support spaces.
Transport equipment, supplies, and materials between departments as needed.
Monitor and restock designated supply areas.
Handle and dispose of regulated medical waste safely according to hospital policies and infection prevention standards.
Assist with terminal cleaning and prepare surgical areas for the next day's schedule.
Support the Burn Center and Main Operating Room based on daily operational needs.
Respond promptly to requests from nursing and surgical teams.
Comply with safety, infection prevention, and regulatory requirements.
