About The Position

The Surgical Services Supervisor provides front-line clinical leadership for an assigned service line and reports directly to the Nurse Manager. The supervisor oversees resource utilization, operational performance, and compliance with regulatory standards, including The Joint Commission (TJC) and CMS. The role manages daily perioperative room and staffing assignments, supports a collaborative and high-performing team, and ensures equipment and supplies are managed efficiently to support the surgical schedule and safe patient care.

The supervisor provides clear communication and objective leadership, supports team development, and identifies opportunities to streamline workflows and improve surgical outcomes. The position also contributes to continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice.

Requirements

• Oregon RN License.
• Three years of clinical nursing experience in an Operating Room as an Operating Room Nurse, including at least two years in the clinical OR service.
• Experience with performance management.
• Experience assisting with staff orientation.
• AHA BLS.

• Previous OR charge or supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily staff and room assignments to support efficient workflow and adherence to productivity and quality metrics.
• Direct human resources functions, including team orientation, performance feedback, continuing education, and corrective action.
• Monitor staffing skill mixes and manage departmental supplies and capital needs for cost-effective operations.
• Maintain standards of care consistent with TJC, CMS, and hospital policies to support patient safety and regulatory compliance.
• Lead and participate in departmental work teams to analyze outcomes, improve efficiencies, and implement evidence-based practice changes.
• Assist in developing the surgical schedule and manage payroll activities.
