About The Position

We are seeking experienced Sterile Processing Technicians (SPT) for our Surgical Services department. This role is crucial for ensuring the proper decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment. The position operates on a Monday-Friday schedule from 11 PM to 7:30 AM, with occasional requirements to work scheduled holidays and potentially float to other locations. Our facility is a Level One trauma center, which is extremely busy and demands a high level of expertise and efficiency from our team members.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a sterile processing role within a facility similar to OSU (Level One trauma facility).
• Experience with decontamination of all items (Drills, Davinci, scopes).
• Experience with assembly of all instruments in all service lines (Trauma, loaners, peel packaging included).
• Experience with sterilization process (sterrad and steam).
• Experience with HLD/ Scope.
• Experience with Sterile Storage.
• Experience as an OR Liaison.
• Experience with Censitrac Tracking system.
• Certification through CBSPD or CRCST (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM).

Responsibilities

• Decontamination of all items, including drills, Davinci equipment, and scopes.
• Assembly of all instruments across all service lines, including trauma and loaner instruments, with peel packaging.
• Execution of sterilization processes using both sterrad and steam methods.
• Handling of High-Level Disinfection (HLD) and scope processing.
• Management of sterile storage.
• Serving as an OR Liaison.
• Utilizing the Censitrac Tracking system.
