About The Position

The Sterile Processing Tech will work in Surgical Services at OSU, a busy Level One trauma facility. Candidates should have experience across all areas of the sterile processing department and have worked in a facility similar to OSU. The role is scheduled Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Medivator experience is required; candidates must rate their Medivator experience on a scale of 1–4, and the rating must be included with their submission.

OSU does not accept former permanent staff or travelers who previously held an assignment anywhere within the OSU system. Travelers who reach the one-year maximum contract limit are not eligible for extensions or future assignments.

Parking information: WMC parking is available monthly for $224.80 per month or $748.58 per 100 days. WB and CXS permits require annual payment upfront and are not available as monthly permits. WB costs $196.20 per year, and CXS costs $393.96 per year. Prorated refunds may be available for unused future months on annual permits; current and prior months are not refundable. Cancellation must be completed by 6:30 p.m. on the last business day of the month to avoid the next charge. Refund checks may take 3–5 weeks.

Requirements

• Medivator experience is required; candidates must provide a self-rating on a scale of 1–4.
• Experience across all areas of a sterile processing department.
• Experience in a facility similar to OSU, a very busy Level One trauma facility.
• CBSPD or CRCST certification (through HSPA, formerly IAHCSMM).
• Former permanent staff and travelers who have taken an assignment anywhere within the OSU system are ineligible for return.
• Travelers who reach the one-year maximum contract limit are ineligible for extensions or future assignments.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate items, including drills, Da Vinci equipment, and scopes.
• Assemble instruments across all service lines, including trauma instruments, loaners, and peel packaging.
• Perform sterilization processes using Sterrad and steam.
• Perform high-level disinfection (HLD) and scope-related work.
• Manage sterile storage.
• Act as a liaison to the operating room (OR).
• Use the Censitrac tracking system.
