About The Position

Supervise operating room (OR) operations and serve as an expert for the assigned specialty or service line(s). Oversee processes and procedures to guarantee efficient, effective and safe delivery of health services. Work collaboratively with physicians, leadership and staff to develop and implement streamlined operations where equipment, supplies and staff are utilized efficiently and resourcefully. Provide input for hiring, training, directing, development and evaluating of staff.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  • Certified Registered Nurse specializing in First Assistant credentialed from the National Assistant at Surgery Certification obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Associates who hired/transferred before 04/30/2018 are not required to hold certification.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 yearspreceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
