About The Position

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing high-quality patient care throughout the surgical experience, including the pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative phases. This role involves assessing patient needs, administering medications, monitoring patient progress, educating patients and families, and collaborating with the surgical team to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within one (1) year of employment.
  • Standing for extended periods

  • Lifting and moving patients or supplies
  • Frequent communication and active listening
  • Close visual acuity required for patient care and documentation
  • Up to 50 pounds of force occasionally

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) considered based on experience and state requirements.
  • One (1) year of nursing experience in a surgical, perioperative, operating room, or ambulatory surgery setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care during the pre-operative, operative, and recovery phases of the surgical process.
  • Collaborate with physicians, clinical staff, and other departments to ensure coordinated, high-quality patient care.
  • Deliver care in accordance with established nursing standards, state nurse practice acts, accreditation requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Create a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients and their families.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment while adhering to established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Follow infection prevention protocols, medication administration guidelines, and controlled substance regulations to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Protect patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and organizational standards.
  • Accurately document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes.
