The Surgical Services Inventory Technician is responsible for picking of surgical cases using a case cart system and utilization of the Pyxis system. They are also responsible for the supply management of the Pyxis systems, including debiting and crediting of materials. This position requires a blend of skills and experience focused on supply management in a fast-paced surgical environment. The technician functions as a member of the surgical services team by providing support and acting as a resource. They will accurately and completely pull supplies and instruments for cases, put away incoming stock, and return used supplies to the Pyxis accurately. The role involves assisting with inventory management of OR Pyxis cabinets, including procurement of items for picking case carts and crediting the patient for returned items. Ensuring all incoming inventory is properly identified, put away in correct locations, and on time is crucial. The technician will oversee inventory, check for outdated or soon-to-expire products, and report to the surgical services materials Supervisor. Responsibilities include picking case carts, resupplying OR suites and all surgery inventory locations, crediting unused surgical supplies, and other assigned duties. The position requires the ability to learn, demonstrate, and practice aseptic technique, ensure accuracy of Pyxis inventories, and perform data collection for statistics. Flexibility in work hours to accommodate OR volumes is necessary. The role adheres to safety and infection control policies, rules of confidentiality, and patients' rights to privacy.
