About The Position

This role is for a Surgical Services Intern at Ascension St. Vincent Evansville, within the Surgery department. The intern will perform key surgical support tasks within their defined student scope of practice, contributing directly to safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care. They will also collaborate on cross-functional departmental goals and special projects to improve operational efficiency and clinical workflows. The intern will organize daily work assignments independently and proactively raise questions and issues to ensure high standards of safety and team communication. Additionally, they will partner with experienced surgical staff on departmental assignments, gaining hands-on exposure while supporting the broader healthcare team’s success.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
High school diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
High school graduate or has obtained GED.
Has been accepted into the Ascension St. Vincent and Ivy Tech CST Apprenticeship Program.
