About The Position

Supervise daily operating room (OR) activities and oversee processes to ensure the efficient, effective, and safe delivery of health services. Partner with physicians, leadership, and staff to streamline operations and resource utilization, while managing the hiring, training, and professional development of team members. Maintain clinical competency to support direct patient care while facilitating clear communication between the OR and other units to proactively resolve delivery issues.

Requirements

  • BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Cross accepted.
  • Certified Registered Nurse specializing in First Assistant credentialed from the National Assistant at Surgery Certification obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Registered Nurse obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
  • Surgical Assistant credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Associates who hired/transferred before 04/30/2018 are not required to hold certification.
  • Surgical Tech credentialed from the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Per Tennessee Code (TCA) 68-57-101(a), non-certified applicants must have 18 months of surgical technologist experience in the 3 years preceding 5/21/07; or began the appropriate surgical technologist training prior to 5/21/07 and completed by 5/21/10.
  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
