About The Position

This position is for a Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) in Surgical Services. The role requires flexibility to work 11a/1p shifts each week. The ideal candidate will have experience in a wide range of surgical procedures across multiple service lines. Knowledge of decontamination, sterilization processes, aseptic technique, sharps safety, and the Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure is essential.

Requirements

Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) certification required.
CST required unless traveler has worked as a tech in NY prior to 2015.
3 years of experience required.
Experience with Gastric bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Lap band, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair, Carotid angioplasty, Carotid Endarterectomy, Endovascular Aneurysm Repair, Femoral popliteal bypass graft, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Direct Laryngoscopy, Radical neck dissection, Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, Tracheostomy, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection - Open/LAP, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical, Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total, Anterior/Posterior Repair (Colporrhaphy), Bilateral tubal ligation, Cervical Cerclage, Dilation & Curettage, Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, Anterior cervical fusion, Cervical fusions, Craniotomy, Insertion of VP shunt, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion, XLIF (Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion), Carpal tunnel release, Closed/Open reduction of fractures, Laminectomy/discectomy, Spinal Fusion, Total hip replacement, Total knee replacement, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction, Bunionectomy, Hallux vagus arthroplasty/arthrodesis, Metatarsal surgery, Colorectal Robotic Surgery, Da Vinci Xi Surgical System, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Mediastinoscopy, VATS, Cystoscopy, Laparoscopic assisted cases, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy, Ureteroscopy.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of experience is preferred.
Epic preferred.
Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
Experience with Colorectal Robotic Surgery.
Experience with VATS.
Experience with Laparoscopic assisted cases across various specialties.

Responsibilities

Perform duties as a Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST).

Operate and assist with specialized equipment such as the Da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
Ensure knowledge of decontamination and sterilization processes and indicators.
Adhere to Aseptic Technique, Sharps Safety, and Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure.
Work flexible shifts including 11a/1p each week.
Participate in on-call duties.
Work approximately 6 weekend shifts for each 8-week time block, including holidays.
