About The Position
This position is for a Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST) in Surgical Services. The role requires a CST certification, unless the traveler has prior experience as a tech in NY before 2015. The position involves working across 12 service lines and requires on-call duties. Local candidates are not accepted if they are within 75 miles of the facility. Scrubs are provided.
Requirements
- CST certification required (unless traveler worked as a tech in NY prior to 2015).
- 3 years of experience required.
- Experience in General OR.
- Experience with Gastric bypass, Gastric Sleeve, Lap band.
- Experience with Laparoscopic assisted cases.
- Experience with Aortic Aneurysm repair, Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repair.
- Experience with Carotid angioplasty, Carotid Endarterectomy.
- Experience with Endovascular Aneurysm Repair.
- Experience with Femoral popliteal bypass graft.
- Experience with Direct Laryngoscopy.
- Experience with Radical neck dissection, Tonsillectomy/adenoidectomy, Tracheostomy.
- Experience with Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection - Open/LAP, Hernia repair inguinal/umbilical.
- Experience with Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy partial/total.
- Experience with Anterior/Posterior Repair (Colporrhaphy), Bilateral tubal ligation, Cervical Cerclage, Dilation & Curettage.
- Experience with Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures.
- Experience with Anterior cervical fusion, Cervical fusions.
- Experience with Craniotomy, Insertion of VP shunt, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion, XLIF (Extreme Lateral Interbody Fusion).
- Experience with Carpal tunnel release, Closed/Open reduction of fractures.
- Experience with Spinal Fusion, Total hip replacement, Total knee replacement.
- Experience with Mastectomy with tram flap reconstruction.
- Experience with Bunionectomy, Hallux vagus arthroplasty/arthrodesis, Metatarsal surgery.
- Experience with Colorectal Robotic Surgery.
- Experience with Da Vinci Xi Surgical System.
- Experience with Mediastinoscopy, VATS.
- Experience with Cystoscopy.
- Experience with Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy, Transurethral resection of the prostate.
- Experience with Lithotripsy/Ultrasonic Lithotripsy/ESWL, Ureteroscopy.
- Knowledge of decontamination and sterilization process and indicators.
- Knowledge of Aseptic Technique.
- Knowledge of Sharps Safety.
- Knowledge of Specimen Handling/labeling.
- Knowledge of Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure.
Nice To Haves
- 3+ years of experience is preferred.
- Management/lead experience.
- Epic experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform duties as a Certified OR Tech / Surgical Tech (CST).
- Assist in various surgical procedures across 12 service lines.
- Adhere to decontamination and sterilization processes.
- Maintain aseptic technique.
- Practice sharps safety.
- Handle and label specimens correctly.
- Follow the Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure.
- Participate in on-call duties, including weekends and holidays.
