About The Position

Supervises and coordinates daily ancillary staff activities to create a sanitary, safe environment and enhance the appearance of the Operating Room. This role involves ensuring adherence to procedures, assessing the quality of services, and facilitating staff development. The supervisor will also be responsible for patient transfers, handling complex issues, and providing guidance and training to staff. Additionally, they will oversee the procurement and maintenance of equipment and supplies within surgical suites.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required)
  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
  • BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
  • Three (3) plus years of experience in Surgical Services.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years Anesthesia Tech experience is preferred
  • Associates degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures adherence to procedure, including but not limited to following standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
  • Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staff assignments who are responsible for cleaning Operating Room (OR), surgical suites and other assigned areas daily, including collecting and removing trash, changing linens and sanitizing all surfaces to plan and accomplish department goals.
  • Assesses quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs.
  • Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures and protocols.
  • Transfers patients from Nursing Units to OR and from PACU to the Nursing Units/Discharge.
  • Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
  • Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
  • Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching and mentoring to staff.
  • Assists with performance evaluations and disciplinary actions.
  • Supervises the procurement, maintenance and moving of equipment and supplies in surgical suites.
