We are seeking a Surgical Physician Assistant who will provide health care services to patients under direction and responsibility of Physician by performing the following duties: This position is about 50% Clinic and 50% in the Operating Room (OR).
Requirements
- Surgical Physician Assistant experience
- Experience with total joints (hips and knees)
- Excellent suturing and wound closure skills
Responsibilities
- Examines patient, performs comprehensive physical examination, and complies patient medical data including health history and results of physical examination.
- Under the direction of a total joints (hips and knees) Physician, you will conduct patient assessments, order, or directly provide treatments, and provide patient education and support.
- Provides post-op follow-ups as needed including hospital rounding.
- First assist in the O/R 3 days per week and clinic 2-3 days per week.
- Successful candidate must possess excellent suturing and wound closure skills.
- Work under protocol to develop an effective, safe, and patient-centered treatment plan.
- Provide timely and complete clinical documentation in the EHR following patient visits or telephone calls.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the physician regarding assigned patients and provide timely notification of changes in patient status.
- Maintain ongoing communication with other members of the care team through written documentation, telephone or in-person conversation.
- Ensure timely access of patient appointments.
