About The Position

Provides primary surgical assistance to the primary surgeon during surgical procedures. Under the surgeon’s direct supervision, with the surgeon physically present and immediately available to respond to critical moments, performs hemostasis, closures, and other intraoperative technical functions to support safe procedures and optimal outcomes. When not assisting the surgeon, functions as a surgical technician. This is a full-time, day position requiring flexible hours and on-call availability nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• High school education; college education preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technology First Assistant certification.
• Maintain certification from a recognized certifying agency as required by Florida, or qualify for Florida reciprocity while in good standing in another state.
• Assist with 350 documented surgical cases as a CSFA.
• At least 3 years of previous operating-room experience.
• Current BLS certification approved by the American Heart Association.
• Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
