Requirements

  • At least 2 years of surgical assisting experience
  • Hands-on experience assisting in Robotics, Spine, and Plastics
  • Strong technical skills in the operating room
  • Graduate of an Accredited program- PA/NP/CSFA
  • Ability to acquire VA/MD state license
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to different personalities and needs
  • A customer-service mindset
  • Confidence to work independently and autonomously
  • Able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation, including: Ability to lift, sit, stand, or squat
  • Constant seeing, hearing, and speaking
  • Frequent lifting up to 20+ lbs., plus bending, reaching, standing, walking, and kneeling

Nice To Haves

  • Spine experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary surgical first assist, providing critical hands-on support throughout procedures.
  • Confirm cases, meet patients, walk them through procedures, gather documentation, and coordinate closely with OR staff.
  • Support patient positioning, maintain a sterile field, anticipate the surgeon's next move, and work in sync with the surgical team.
  • Assist with patient transfer, deliver thorough PACU handoffs, and complete documentation with precision.
  • Contribute to clinical and operational initiatives — education, training, and process improvement.
  • Bring a willingness to learn new surgical specialties and expand your skill set.
