About The Position

Join Our Team as a Surgical First Assist – Robotics, Spine, Plastics (LSA/PA/NP/RNFA/CSA) at MPOWERHealth! THIS IS AN OR ONLY ROLE. We are not a locums, travel, or staffing company--this is a full-time, salaried position with full benefits! MPOWERHealth is a health services organization that partners directly with hospitals, health systems, and surgeons to deliver exceptional patient care by providing Intraoperative Neuromonitoring and Surgical First Assist services.

Requirements

At least 2 years of surgical assisting experience
Hands-on experience assisting in Robotics, Spine, and Plastics
Strong technical skills in the operating room
Graduate of an Accredited program- PA/NP/CSFA
Ability to acquire VA/MD state license
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to adapt to different personalities and needs
A customer-service mindset
Confidence to work independently and autonomously
Able to perform all essential duties with or without accommodation, including: Ability to lift, sit, stand, or squat
Constant seeing, hearing, and speaking
Frequent lifting up to 20+ lbs., plus bending, reaching, standing, walking, and kneeling

Nice To Haves

Spine experience is a plus

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary surgical first assist, providing critical hands-on support throughout procedures.
Confirm cases, meet patients, walk them through procedures, gather documentation, and coordinate closely with OR staff.
Support patient positioning, maintain a sterile field, anticipate the surgeon's next move, and work in sync with the surgical team.
Assist with patient transfer, deliver thorough PACU handoffs, and complete documentation with precision.
Contribute to clinical and operational initiatives — education, training, and process improvement.
Bring a willingness to learn new surgical specialties and expand your skill set.
