About The Position

Dental Associates of Florida - Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry is seeking a part-time Surgical Dental Assistant in Sun City, Florida. The assistant supports the clinical team and professional dental staff with treatment, providing attentive patient care and contributing to a team-based, patient-centered practice. Candidates must have prior dental assisting experience. The role includes preparing treatment rooms, assisting during procedures, supporting patient education, performing radiography-related tasks, maintaining records, and helping ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Requirements

Prior dental assisting experience.
Completion of a one-year certified dental assistant program or six months of on-the-job experience with supporting documentation.
X-ray certification.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.

Nice To Haves

Nitrous Oxide certification is highly recommended.

Responsibilities

Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and assist dentists during procedures.
Welcome, comfort, and educate patients about oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
Follow infection control protocols, protect patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake when needed.
Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
