About The Position

The Surgical Case Dispatcher is responsible for planning, routing, and coordinating the delivery and pickup of all scheduled surgical cases to ensure on-time, accurate fulfillment. This role optimizes driver utilization, supports transportation budgets and cost-reduction initiatives, and monitors operational metrics. The dispatcher will coordinate expired replacement pickups and drop-offs, partner with Surgical Case Coordinators to plan efficient routes, and communicate with Sales partners. Additionally, they will develop strategies to maximize driver capacity, maintain accurate delivery instructions, and prepare vehicle maintenance reports.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant/professional experience
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid Driver’s license with no restrictions
  • Ability to work flexible hours, as needed to support the business needs, including weekend(s) and evening(s) as needed
  • Must have the ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Work experience in a related field such as Transportation or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • Demonstrated warehouse/inventory control experience in a demanding, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, route, and coordinate the delivery and pickup of all scheduled surgical cases to ensure on-time, accurate fulfillment.
  • Optimize driver utilization while meeting transportation budgets and supporting cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Monitor and achieve established operational metrics, including turns and service levels.
  • Coordinate expired replacement pickups and drop-offs, ensuring timely return of inventory to the correct location.
  • Partner closely with Surgical Case Coordinators to plan efficient routes, reducing mileage, overtime, and overall costs.
  • Communicate effectively with Sales partners to build strong working relationships and ensure seamless case execution.
  • Develop and execute strategies to maximize driver capacity, accounting for peak times, demand fluctuations, and operational priorities, while collaborating with Inbound and Outbound teams as needed.
  • Maintain accurate delivery instructions and drop-off locations.
  • Prepare vehicle maintenance reports to ensure timely and scheduled vehicle upkeep.
