Surgical Associate - Operating Room - Full-Time, Days
About The Position
This is a full-time, day shift position for a Surgical Associate in the Operating Room at Texas Health Fort Worth. The role involves supporting the surgical team by completing stocking chores, assisting with patient movement to and from operating room suites, and aiding in room cleanup before and after surgery. Texas Health Fort Worth is an 851-bed, Magnet-designated hospital serving the Fort Worth community since 1930, offering advanced care in various specialties and holding certifications as a Comprehensive Cardiac Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center, and Level I Trauma Center. The department is a fast-paced, high-volume unit averaging 75 surgeries per day, performing high-acuity procedures including robotics, complex spine and ortho trauma, and intricate plastic surgery.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent Required
- Previous patient care experience
- BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- Read, write and speak English
- Able to stand/walk for majority of hours of their work shift
- Easily move heavy equipment & supplies (up to 250 lbs on wheels) without endangering themselves or others
Responsibilities
- Completes routine stocking chores
- Assists in moving patients to and from the operating room suites
- Assists in room cleanup before and/or after surgery
