About The Position

The Surfcaster Seasonal Beach Service Attendant supports the Surfcaster Restaurant by promptly assisting walk‑up guests and providing food and beverage service on the beach, while also answering phones politely and efficiently. Although no job description can include every duty that may be requested by guests or required by the hotel, the primary objective of this position is to deliver services effectively or immediately refer requests to the appropriate department manager. This role reports to the Surfcaster Manager, Surfcaster Assistant Managers and Supervisors, Food & Beverage Director, Assistant Food & Beverage Director, and the Director of Recreation and Recreation Management.

Requirements

  • Able to stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to read and write English proficiently
  • Able to lift and carry 20lbs routinely, and up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Able to walk, sit, stand, squat and reach in the course of daily business
  • Able to work quickly in a high-pressure environment, keeping a calm and polite attitude
  • Able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions
  • Able to push purchasing carts, ice carts and garbage carts for a distance

Responsibilities

  • Have full knowledge of all menus and beverage menus.
  • Have full knowledge of responsible alcohol service.
  • Have full knowledge and certification in safe food handling practices.
  • Proper setup and breakdown of area and service station.
  • Answering incoming calls promptly and politely.
  • Deliver food to correct guests in the correct order and correct location on the beach with a pleasant smile, and greet all guests, using guest names.
  • Remove trash and plates from seats and cabanas on the beach.
  • Responsible for stocking all beverages, food and service items needed.
  • Responsible for juicing citrus and breaking down and cleaning the machine.
  • Clean floors of beach hut.
  • Complete beach hut set-up and breakdown/side-work.
  • Provide the highest quality guest interactions – Use guest names during interactions.
  • Keep working area neat and clean.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests.
  • Enter in orders to the computer ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Prepare beverages quickly and efficiently, following written and visual standards.
  • Follow service standards and best practices at all times.
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork with other departments and associates.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the restaurant manager or supervisors.
  • Shovel Ice into ice cart.
