Requirements

  • HS Diploma or equivalent
  • 6-12 months of experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

  • In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate a number of surface treatments and cleaning equipment to prepare a variety of turbine engine parts for subsequent operations.
  • Perform masking and media finishing operation where methods and processes are developed and closely controlled.
  • Work from verbal and written instructions and operation sheets to set up, operate, and adjust a wide variety of manually and numerically controlled surface treatment equipment.
  • Run test pieces and reoperate rejected parts following prescribed repair instructions, checking both visually and with gages provided.
  • Preform routine servicing throughout such as operator’s checklists for upkeep and to ensure equipment operates properly.
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
  • May be required to train for , obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.
