Requirements

HS Diploma or equivalent
6-12 months of experience
Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

In compliance with the collective bargaining agreement, priority consideration is given to candidates who are INTERNAL (and recall) to the Pratt & Whitney IAM Bargaining Unit members of District Lodge 26 and Affiliated Locals 700 and 1746 (Connecticut Operations).

Responsibilities

Set up and operate a number of surface treatments and cleaning equipment to prepare a variety of turbine engine parts for subsequent operations.
Perform masking and media finishing operation where methods and processes are developed and closely controlled.
Work from verbal and written instructions and operation sheets to set up, operate, and adjust a wide variety of manually and numerically controlled surface treatment equipment.
Run test pieces and reoperate rejected parts following prescribed repair instructions, checking both visually and with gages provided.
Preform routine servicing throughout such as operator’s checklists for upkeep and to ensure equipment operates properly.
May be assigned to carry out tasks, not specifically listed within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
May be required to train for , obtain and maintain licenses, operator permits and certifications within assigned area.
