Heat Treater - 2nd Shift

Based in Vernon, California the Heat Treater C will perform essential job functions associated with heat treatment under the direction of the Production Supervisor to meet customer specifications including assisting other employees as needed. We are looking for a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Heat Treating Technician. Depending on your skills and experience, this role may be filled at one of the following levels: Level C: Entry Level: 0 to 24 months of heat treating experience. You will be expected to learn and grow in your role, with guidance from senior team members.
Requirements
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance requirements, therefore candidates must be U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident Card Holders.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must have working knowledge of metallurgy, temperatures, etc.
- May be required to work overtime or any shift, including weekends.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain forklift operation certification.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
- Must be able to work in a standing position for extended periods of time in an industrial environment.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop and reach to perform functions
- Ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
- Must have the cognitive and mental capacity to perform essential job functions
- Must be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Visual acuity to read documents, computer
Responsibilities
- Assists with operations, control, and monitoring of heat treating and related equipment as required and written in procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
- Prepares work for processing; loads and unloads furnaces, bins, fixtures, baskets, etc.
- Brings any unusual problems or irregularities to the attention of the supervisor.
- Practices and promotes safety and good housekeeping.
- Performs other tasks as assigned or dictated by position.
- This position is responsible for the care and treatment of our customer’s inventory and, as such, will perform duties in a safe and responsible manner to prevent customer loss or damage.
- Must have the ability to report for work on time, follow directions, interact effectively with co-workers, understand and follow rules and procedures, and accept constructive criticism.
