About The Position

We are seeking a Surface Electrician for our operations near Brookwood, Alabama. We expect this person to be a role model for the "Warrior Way" and uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and teamwork. As a Surface Electrician, you will perform various tasks related to electrical installations, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair in or around preparation plants or associated surface work areas. The Surface Electrician will work closely with supervisors and other team members to maintain a safe work environment while adhering to company policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
MSHA electrical certification.
Ability to use electrical test instruments.
Ability to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
Maintain good punctuality and attendance.
Ability to work safely and effectively in an prep plant or other associated shop or mining environment.
Ability to communicate effectively with other team members and supervisors.
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Good organizational, time management and multitasking skills.

Nice To Haves

Welding and/or cutting torch experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform tasks that may include installation of electrical and mechanical systems, wiring of fixtures or equipment as well as maintenance or repairs of mining related equipment.
Troubleshooting preparation plant and other associated mining equipment.
Perform various preventive maintenance tasks.
Perform various electrical inspections.
Operate various hand tools and machinery.
Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations.
Preserves a safe and clean work environment by keeping trash cleaned up and practicing good housekeeping standards in their work areas.
May operate equipment on a temporary basis.
Other duties that may be assigned by supervisor.
