The Surface Mount Technician (SMT) plays a critical role in the electronic assembly process, supporting the setup, operation, and optimization of SMT equipment to ensure efficient production and superior product quality. Requirements

Proven experience in PCB assembly, particularly within a production or manufacturing environment.
Strong proficiency in both through-hole and surface mount soldering techniques.
Familiarity with electronic components, circuit boards, and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety procedures.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve soldering and assembly-related issues effectively and efficiently.
Strong verbal and written communication skills for accurate reporting and documentation of work.
Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment, as well as independently when required.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience operating and supporting programming of Mydata surface mount equipment.
Prior hands-on experience utilizing DEK stencil printers.
Prior inspection experience.
IPC-A-610 or J-STD certification.
Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate general knowledge of Surface Mount Technology (SMT) processes and equipment operation within a production environment.
Operate and support programming of Mydata surface mount equipment; prior experience is a plus.
Utilize DEK stencil printers effectively; prior hands-on experience is preferred.
Support reflows oven operations, including profile setup and generation to ensure proper soldering quality.
Perform quality inspections to verify assembly accuracy and compliance with applicable standards; prior inspection experience is a plus.
Apply knowledge of IPC-A-610 or J-STD standards; certification is considered a plus.
Exhibit strong aptitude for both electronic and mechanical assembly practices.
Interpret and work from structured Bills of Materials (BOMs), assembly drawings, and kit identification processes.
Demonstrate agility and flexibility in managing multiple projects and shifting production priorities.
Work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
Meet tight production deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and accuracy.
Thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing environment.
Maintain flexibility with scheduling to support production needs.
Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles where applicable; experience is a plus.
