About The Position
Gibson Homewares is hiring a Surface Designer to create designs for dinnerware, accessories, glassware, and other products across the company’s categories. The role is based in Los Angeles and is performed in the office Monday through Friday. The Surface Designer reports to the Design Director and SVP, Creative. The company offers competitive compensation and a full benefits package.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Illustration or Fine Arts, or equivalent work experience.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with expert-level Illustrator and Photoshop skills, in a Mac environment.
- Artistic talent with strong drawing and painting skills.
- At least 5 years of surface design experience, including painting, drawing, and computer-generated art.
- Proficiency in AI-assisted design tools and their application throughout the creative process.
- Good understanding of color and trends, with an eye for fashion and design.
- Submit a professional portfolio, preferably online, or PDF samples of work.
Nice To Haves
- Ability to design 3D products is a plus, but not required.
