About The Position

This Knowledge Based Engineering (KBE) position offers an opportunity for motivated, innovative engineers to work on challenging assignments during the advanced and production phases of automotive product development.

The KBE Surface Setup Designer configures Class A surface data for downstream KBE parametric modeling of 3D body and exterior components. The work includes creating or modifying cutlines, adjusting surfaces when approved by Styling, extending surfaces used in different templates, repairing surface quality issues, and publishing data for downstream engineering users. The role interfaces daily with Engineering, Styling, and Studio Engineering.

Requirements

• Associate degree.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• Class A surfacing experience.
• Proficiency in CATIA 3DX parametric modeling and NX CAD.
• Experience with Teamcenter data management.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative, productive, process-driven environment.

Nice To Haves

• Automotive experience in Body, Closures, or Exterior; prior Stellantis experience is a bonus.
• Parametric design experience.
• KBE experience is highly desirable.
• Advanced training, certificates, or degree.
• Self-starter with strong leadership and communication skills and demonstrated problem-solving ability.
