About The Position

Responsible for directly supervising Central Processing Technicians, resolving operational problems, and maintaining department policies and procedures. The supervisor implements new procedures and coordinates in-services in conjunction with the Administrative Manager, OR/CPD Educators, and Surgical Materials Managers. The role also supports daily departmental operations and demonstrates excellent customer service by exhibiting the hospital’s ten customer service behaviors in every aspect of the job.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of experience as a Central Processing Technician.
• Computer experience.
• One year of management experience.
• Knowledge of surgical equipment.
• Upon hire, required certification: CRT-REG_CENTRAL_SVCS_TECHNICIAN_CERT-HSPA or CRT-Sterile Processing Distribution Tech (CSPDT) - CBSPD.

Nice To Haves

• One to two years of college.
• Six months of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct the day-to-day work of subordinates, and assist in managing daily departmental operations.
• Respond to and resolve most front-line operational problems.
• Coordinate in-services, meetings, training, and orientation of new personnel with the CPD educator, manager, and surgical materials manager.
• Maintain discipline and administer corrective actions as warranted.
• Assist in interviewing candidates for open positions and make hiring recommendations.
• Develop new procedures and update existing procedures.
• Accumulate quality improvement statistics and report them to the manager.
• Exhibit the hospital’s ten customer service behaviors in every aspect of the job.
