Website: www.austinoakshospital.com The Intake Assessment Supervisor oversees the daily operations of the intake department for a mental health hospital, ensuring that referrals, inquiries, assessments, and admissions are handled in a timely, clinically appropriate, accurate, and service-focused manner. This position serves as a key operational leader for intake workflow management and works closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, unit clerks, case management, and other departments to support patient flow, bed utilization, and safe admission practices. The Intake Supervisor helps ensure that patients and families receive a professional, compassionate first experience with the organization while maintaining compliance with hospital policy, confidentiality requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. In addition to managing intake processes, this role provides leadership, coaching, and day-to-day oversight to intake staff. The Intake Supervisor monitors quality, prioritizes assignments, resolves workflow issues, supports staff development, and escalates concerns when necessary. This position plays a critical role in maintaining operational efficiency, supporting service excellence, and contributing to key performance goals such as cycle time, emergency room response time, average daily census, and inquiry response expectations.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  • Licensed by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas (or licensed in a compact state) OR a Licensed Therapist LPC, LMFT
  • 2 year psychiatric nursing experience required
  • Required 1 year supervisory experience
  • CPR and hospital de-escalation certifications which can be obtained during orientation.
  • Must be able to complete new hire requirements such as a nationwide background check and pre-employment drug screen.
