About The Position

At Father Joe's Villages, supportive housing is more than providing a place to live - it's about helping people build stability, maintain their independence, and thrive. Many residents face health conditions, behavioral health challenges, disabilities, or other barriers that make maintaining a safe and healthy living environment difficult. Our Supportive Housing Custodians do more than provide cleaning services - they work alongside residents, helping them develop housekeeping routines, strengthen independent living skills, and create living environments that support long-term housing stability. Success in this role means building trusting relationships with residents, helping them maintain safe and healthy living spaces, identifying concerns before they become larger issues, and collaborating with housing and case management teams to support successful tenancy. Every day, you'll contribute to safer communities, improved quality of life, and long-term housing stability.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required.
At least one year of responsible work experiencedemonstratingreliability, professionalism, and the ability to follow established procedures.
Valid California Driver's License

Nice To Haves

Experience in custodial services, housekeeping, environmental services, residential support, hospitality, healthcare, supportive housing, or similar settingsis preferred.
Experience working with individuals experiencing homelessness, behavioral health challenges, disabilities, or substance use disordersalso ispreferred.

Responsibilities

Provide custodial services within tenant units and common areas, including cleaning, sanitation, organization, and related housekeeping activities.
Coach and assist tenants in maintaining clean, safe, and functional living spaces through hands-on support, encouragement, and skill-building.
Support individual and group activities focused on cleanliness, organization, sanitation, and healthy living practices.
Build trusting, professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries and promoting dignity and respect.
Complete timely and accurate documentation of tenant interactions, custodial activities, and related services in assigned systems.
Participate in Multidisciplinary Approach to Services (MAS) meetings by providing updates regarding tenant engagement, living environment concerns, and service needs.
Collaborate closely with case managers, Tenant Services Coordinators, housing staff, and other team members to support coordinated tenant services.
