About The Position

Supported Living Specialists help adults who experience developmental disabilities to live independently in their own houses and apartments. This role involves assisting clients with making their own choices, learning new skills, and participating in community activities. Responsibilities may include helping with household chores, personal care such as showering, and medication administration. The position offers one-on-one interaction, allowing for the development of strong relationships with clients. This is a full-time position requiring 40 hours per week with a flexible schedule, including mandatory Fridays and Saturdays. The workdays are generally between 8 am and 7 pm, with daily shifts of 8 to 9 hours. This role is ideal for individuals seeking experience in social services, social justice, non-profits, and healthcare, or for those looking for a long-term career.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must have a current driver’s license.
  • Must have a reliable personal vehicle.
  • Must have at least two years of driving experience.
  • Must have auto insurance.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a reference check.
  • Must be able to pass a physical with a lifting test of 50lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal history background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the developmental disability field is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Help adults who experience developmental disabilities live independently in their own houses and apartments.
