About The Position

This position directly supervises employees in the Peer Support and/or Supported Employment programs. The role involves carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. The supervisor will help individuals secure their own employment and develop skills for the workforce. This role also supervises and coordinates activities of program staff, volunteers, and students from Master's level therapy programs.

Requirements

  • Must meet requirements to qualify as a QMHP.
  • QMHPs shall meet the minimum qualifications and hold one of the following educational degrees: Graduate degree in Psychology; Bachelor’s degree in nursing and licensed by the state of Oregon; Graduate degree in social work; Graduate degree in a behavioral science field; Graduate degree in recreational, music or art therapy; Bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy and licensed by the State of Oregon.
  • Educational and experience demonstrates the competencies to identify precipitating events; gather histories of mental and physical disabilities, alcohol and drug use, past mental service and criminal justice contracts; assess family, social and work relationships; conduct a mental health examination; document a multiaxial DSM diagnosis; write and supervise a treatment plan; conduct a comprehensive Mental Health Assessment and provide individual, family and/or group therapy within the scope of their training.
  • Valid Oregon driver’s license, insurable driving record.
  • Personal automobile insurance is required if clients are transported, or any agency business is conducted by the employee using his/her personal vehicle.
  • Must meet the requirements to become MHACBO CADC II Certified.
  • Understanding of major theories and models of therapy (e.g., systemic, cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic).
  • Knowledge of human development and behavior across the lifespan.
  • Awareness of sociocultural factors and diversity issues affecting individuals and families.
  • Proficiency in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.

Nice To Haves

  • MHACBO certification as a QMHA is helpful but not required.
  • Peer Support Specialist Mental Health Certification is required within the first year of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a 20% clinical caseload, depending on duties.
  • Ensure access, quality, and effectiveness for a KBBH program component or specialty.
  • Make day-to-day workload and workflow decisions.
  • Provide direct clinical support to KBBH clinicians through live supervision, consultation, education, and targeted clinical interventions.
  • Ensure timely reporting and routine paperwork for the areas of responsibility to contractors and QI committees.
  • Take a lead role in Quality Improvement.
  • Review and approve clinical documentation, including assessments and other documentation.
  • Collaborate with Outpatient Programs.
  • Work closely with the Clinical Manager to develop employee Performance Appraisals, Performance Goals, and Training Plans.
  • Participate in developing and implementing agency administrative policy.
  • Counsel clients individually or in groups on a planned or experimental basis and in emergencies.
  • Train new employees in areas such as agency policy, department procedures, and agency or government regulations.
  • Represent the agency in community or interagency meetings.
  • Process employee timecards by the required time frame.
  • Ensure timely completion of employee status change and/or payroll change forms.
  • Manage disciplinary processes and procedures as needed.
