About The Position

The Supported Page position is part of Sno-Isle Libraries Supported Employment Program for individuals with developmental disabilities who are supported by a job coach. This position performs the support tasks described below to contribute to a library’s effective operation. This position is part of a bargaining unit represented by AFSCME Council 2.

Requirements

  • Must be a client of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services (DSHS) Developmental Disabilities Community Services (DDCS) Division.
  • Must receive and maintain employment support from a County-contracted Employment Service Provider.
  • Ability to identify and organize library materials such as books, audiobooks, and DVDs based on small-print numbers and letters.

Responsibilities

  • Refer to a printed list and retrieve library materials from that list.
  • Shelve library materials in different collections following guidelines for how to organize them alphabetically and/or numerically depending on the type of item.
  • Double check the organization of materials on the shelves to ensure they are in the correct place.
  • Help keep the library tidy and welcoming through tasks such as straightening materials on shelves, placing materials that have been left out into return bins, and pushing in chairs at tables.
  • Attend meetings, trainings, and workshops as assigned.
  • Assist with special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
