About The Position

We are seeking a compassionate, motivated, and dedicated Supported Employment Specialist to help individuals with mental health and substance use disorders obtain and maintain meaningful employment. Position Summary The Supported Employment Specialist provides individualized employment services using the Individual Placement and Support (IPS) model. This position assists clients with job readiness, career planning, job placement, employer engagement, and ongoing employment support to help clients achieve their vocational goals.

Requirements

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, or a related field.
  • Experience with IPS Supported Employment.
  • Knowledge of DORS, Social Security benefits, Medicaid, and community employment resources.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct intake and vocational assessments for new program participants.
  • Assist clients with resume writing, job applications, interview preparation, and career planning.
  • Develop individualized employment and career plans based on each client's goals and strengths.
  • Conduct job development and job search activities to secure competitive employment opportunities.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local employers.
  • Provide job coaching and follow-along support to help clients maintain employment.
  • Educate clients on how employment may impact benefits such as SSI, SSDI, and Medicaid, and refer to benefits counseling when appropriate.
  • Collaborate with therapists, case managers, DORS counselors, and other treatment team members.
  • Participate in monthly meetings with the Division of Rehabilitation Services (DORS).
  • Advocate for reasonable workplace accommodations when appropriate and approved by the client.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and client records in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
  • Uphold professional ethics, confidentiality, and therapeutic boundaries.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
