About The Position

Community Integrated Care is one of the UK’s largest health and social care charities, dedicated to enriching the lives of people with diverse care needs. The organization works innovatively to provide bespoke care services across England and Scotland, guided by the principles of choice, dignity, and respect, and a vision of ‘Your Life, Your Choice’ and ‘Best Lives Possible’. They are committed to pioneering new ways of delivering social care and have received numerous national and regional awards. The charity emphasizes investing in its people, particularly Support Workers, by offering competitive pay, recognition, wellbeing support, and continuous professional development. They provide all necessary training and personal protective equipment, with opportunities for career advancement. The role involves supporting individuals, many of whom are wheelchair users, with daily living activities. These individuals may have visual and hearing impairments, autism, or learning disabilities. The support aims to foster independence and engagement in meaningful activities such as outdoor pursuits, shopping, theatre, dining out, and learning new skills. A shared interest in music and singing is also highlighted. Desirable qualities for a housemate (the person being supported) include being fun-loving, kind, caring, considerate, respectful of personal space and belongings, and having a love of music. Undesirable traits include being bossy, pushy, running around, shouting, or being very noisy. The staff team is expected to be honest, trustworthy, transparent, reliable, dependable, and to adhere to policies and codes of practice.
