Support Teacher
About The Position
The Support Teacher helps create a classroom culture that fosters children’s curiosity, creativity, compassion, and love of learning. Working alongside the Lead Teacher, the Support Teacher supervises and facilitates daily class activities, builds genuine relationships with children, and supports their social, emotional, and creative development. The role includes helping children explore the world, develop motor skills and vocabulary, and learn through the research-informed Balanced Learning® curriculum. The Support Teacher maintains a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make confident decisions, while following applicable school and regulatory rules for children’s health, safety, and care. Classrooms are fully stocked, and the Leadership Team provides tools, training, and support.
Requirements
- Embrace the social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
Nice To Haves
- Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a licensed early childhood program is highly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Along with the Lead Teacher, supervise and facilitate daily class activities for a group of children.
- Follow Primrose School of West Allen rules and applicable local, state, and national regulations concerning children’s health, safety, and care.
- Build genuine relationships with each child and support their exploration, motor skills, and vocabulary development.
- Work with the co-teacher to implement lesson plans from the Balanced Learning® curriculum.
- Maintain a well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore, and make decisions with confidence.
- Respond to each child’s needs while supporting their social, emotional, and creative development.
