About The Position
The ESE Classroom Aide assists the teacher in carrying out the requirements of individual education plans for exceptional students. The role has physical demands in excess of those for Light Work: it requires exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED, plus one of the following: an associate or higher degree from an accredited college, 60 semester hours, or a score of 458 or higher on the Paraprofessional Test.
- Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, 10 to 25 pounds frequently, and greater than negligible up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
Responsibilities
- Assist the teacher in carrying out the requirements of individual education plans for exceptional students.
Benefits
- An additional $500 for 60 or more semester hours, added to base salary.
- An additional $750 for an associate or higher degree, added to base salary.
