About The Position

The Support Specialist Intern at Surge Staffing provides entry-level technical and administrative support to internal staff and external customers while gaining hands-on experience in a professional support environment. Working under the guidance of senior team members and supervisors, the intern assists with responding to inquiries through phone, email, live chat, and internal systems. This role focuses on building foundational skills in customer service, troubleshooting, and administrative operations while learning company systems, policies, and best practices. The intern contributes to delivering timely, accurate, and professional support to ensure a positive customer experience. This is a full-time (Monday - Friday) On-Site position that is for Surge Staffing HQ located in Columbus, Ohio.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in responding to customer and employee inquiries via phone, email, chat, and internal systems under supervision.
  • Support administrative tasks such as data entry, follow-up communications, and basic status checks.
  • Learn to identify and escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior team members when appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate and organized records, including spreadsheets, logs, and tracking systems.
  • Demonstrate efficiency in Microsoft Excel, including organizing data, maintaining spreadsheets, and performing basic functions.
  • Provide courteous, professional, and customer-focused service in all interactions.
  • Assist with user account setup and basic troubleshooting tasks.
  • Follow company policies regarding confidentiality and proper handling of sensitive information.
  • Collaborate with team members on daily tasks and special projects to support overall operations.
  • Participate in training sessions and actively develop technical, administrative, and communication skills.
