About The Position

RTC based in Bellefontaine, OH is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that assists individuals by providing services to promote employment, community connections, and independence in life. We specialize in helping individuals with disabilities. We were founded in 1970 and have continued to expand our services throughout the years as we have grown. RTC Services is hiring a full-time Support Specialist ($16.50/hr) in Bellefontaine, OH. This entry-level role exists to provide instruction, supervision, and hands-on assistance so individuals with disabilities can build skills and maintain safety.

Requirements

• Age 18+
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Ohio driver’s license
• Must be able to pass a criminal background check by fingerprinting in accordance with Ohio Revised Code 5123-2-02 and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Providing personal care (including continence care and assistance with restroom needs, eating, and changing clothes)
• Planning and carrying out activities
• Implementing individual plans
• Completing daily documentation
• Safely lifting/moving/positioning individuals according to training
• Coaching life skills and work skills
• Assisting with activities of daily living
• Helping individuals participate in the community
• Transportation between locations
• Maintaining comfort and dignity
• Staying attentive to safety
• Communicating clearly with the team
• Keeping timely notes
