About The Position

At ViaQuest Residential Services, our DSPs provide support to individuals with developmental disabilities in intermediate care facilities and their homes. We are looking for individuals who have experience working with youth and are comfortable working alongside clients with possible high behaviors. This position is great for those who are interested in starting a career in healthcare, gaining more experience in the IDD field, or pursuing a career as an STNA. It's also ideal for those who want to gain experience while taking classes or those without a degree, including paraprofessionals, caregivers, STNAs, CNAs, personal care aides, home health aides (HHA), and nursing students.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Personal, reliable vehicle that you're willing and able to use to transport individuals served.
• Valid OH driver's license and car insurance.
• Motor Vehicle Record Must meet ViaQuest's Authorized Driver Criteria
• Can push, lift or carry up to 50 lbs. and can climb, balance, kneel and crouch.

Responsibilities

• Providing direct care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities – our goal is to foster increased independence, choice and empowerment while assuring that their health and safety needs are being met at all times.
• Supervising, teaching and assisting individuals in all aspects of his/her life.
• Completing various household tasks including meal preparation and maintaining a clean and safe living environment.
• Providing personal care assistance.
• Companion care / Caregiving
