About The Position

Buckelew Programs is the leading provider of behavioral healthcare services in the North Bay, dedicated to serving those who may not have access otherwise. Become part of our team and contribute to making a real impact! We are hiring a part-time Support Services Worker for the Orenda Center, a co-ed detox program in Sonoma County that provides 24/7 withdrawal management in a non-residential setting. As a Support Services Worker, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the facility by assisting Detox Counselors, supporting clerical and data entry tasks, maintaining a clean and safe environment, managing inventory, and organizing historical records. Through this work, you will contribute directly to a positive client experience and a workplace culture rooted in Buckelew’s mission and values. This is a part-time position working a combination of swing and day shifts. Shifts are 3:00 PM–11:00 PM on Wednesdays and Saturdays, and 7:00 AM–3:00 PM on Sundays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in data entry and general clerical work.
  • Intermediate computer proficiency, with data entry and typing skills (minimum 45 WPM).
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask, work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Compassionate, professional, and supportive approach with clients.
  • Willingness to learn and grow in the role.
  • Valid California driver’s license.
  • Flexible schedule required, including availability for weekends, evenings, or holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to perform intermittent physical activities including stretching, bending, kneeling, squatting, reaching, pushing, pulling, grasping, and lifting up to 40 lbs.
  • Extended physical activities include walking, driving, writing, standing, sitting, and hearing.
  • Must be able to visually interpret information from printed and electronic sources.
  • Must complete and pass a TB test in compliance with Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with individuals with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders is preferred.
  • Familiarity with AA/NA Twelve-Step programs is strongly preferred.
  • Certification as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor or enrollment in an approved training program (CAARR or equivalent) is a plus.
  • First Aid/CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor facility cleanliness and safety, ensuring a welcoming and hygienic environment.
  • Track client movement in and out of the facility.
  • Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and uphold client confidentiality at all times.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings and required training sessions.
  • Support the program’s structure and uphold its mission in all aspects of your work.
  • Support Services Worker will always be the designated medication management person on shift.
  • Conduct monitoring every 30 minutes including the MPR and all restrooms.
  • Conduct every 6-hour vitals.
  • Responsible for being positioned at the front desk and answering phone calls and client questions.
  • Inventory belongings for any intakes on shift.
  • Conduct UA testing for intakes as appropriate
  • Initiate calendar appointments for clients at the direction of counselors or management
  • Primary transport for clients, medication and other destinations as determined.
