About The Position

This person will be the first contact for the Support Services Department, working under the direction of the Support Services Manager. They will be responsible for answering the phone, assessing basic needs before referring individuals to a Case Manager. The role also involves organizing files, managing statistics, and performing general office duties. A key aspect of this position is providing excellent service to all who participate in functions at the Kroc Center, while prioritizing the promotion of Christian faith and values in alignment with The Salvation Army's Mission.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Pleasant attitude in working with the public
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel)
  • Experience in networking with others
  • Able to multi-task and meet hard deadlines
  • Able to work in a team environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Support Services Team in providing various Emergency Support services to the general public.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and maintain an accurate log of all calls received using Google Sheets.
  • Update the Support Services phone greeting and recorded messages to communicate office closures, program availability, funding status, and other important client information.
  • Manage the daily operation of the SAHelp application portal, including opening and closing applications based on funding availability, assisting clients with the application process, and communicating program availability to the public.
  • Greet and assist scheduled and walk-in clients, assess their needs, and coordinate with Case Managers to determine the appropriate course of action.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client questions regarding the status of their applications and work closely with Case Managers to provide accurate information and guidance.
  • Refer clients to appropriate Salvation Army programs and community resources based on individual needs.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and confidential client records and documentation.
  • Prepare monthly statistical and program reports for the Support Services Office.
  • Keep the Copy Room organized and order supplies through the Procurement & Property Office Assistant as needed.
  • Become familiar with services in the community and keep up-to-date information.
  • Network with other service agencies as needed.
  • Assist with Christmas assistance registration (Oct-Dec).
  • Assist with Application Approvals in SAHelp.
  • Handle client phone calls and requests regarding distribution.
  • Participate in distribution.
  • Assist with Angel Tree, Adopt-a-Family, Sheetz for Kids as directed by Support Services Manager.
  • Come alongside Case Manager & Support Services Manager as needed, as well as any other duties deemed necessary by the Kroc Center Administrators.
