About The Position

The Support Services Coordinator ensures the safe, secure, and efficient operation of VDEM facilities and fleet resources while providing essential administrative support. The role oversees facility safety protocols, vendor and security coordination, and fleet allocation and maintenance. It supports logistics, resource management, and emergency response operations to maintain agency readiness across all VDEM locations. All VDEM employees are designated as essential personnel and may be required to work during emergency situations, such as inclement weather, and natural or man-made disasters/events as directed. This may require irregular work hours, work at locations other than the official duty station, and may include duties other than those specified in the employee’s official EWP.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of office practices, procedures and equipment (computer, fax, printer, multi-line telephone)
  • Considerable experience providing administrative support to include data entry, filing, and other related administrative duties.
  • Working knowledge of the state procurement process and procedures.
  • Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Ability to maintain positive working relationships with internal colleagues and external partners.
  • Organizational, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Ability to multi-task, meet critical deadlines, and work with minimal supervision, either independently or on a team.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States at the time of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Considerable knowledge of Pitney Bowes machines and shipping processes.
  • Experience working for the State of Virginia performing administrative functions to include facility, fleet and safety related duties.
