About The Position

The Support Services Associate follows instructions and works as part of a team to support the daily operations of a Loretto site. Duties may include housekeeping and/or dining services. The associate provides high-quality dining and cleaning services and maintains assigned areas in a clean, sanitary, safe, and orderly condition as directed by a supervisor. The role also requires courteous, professional service to residents, visitors, and staff, and adherence to Loretto policies, safety procedures, and applicable compliance requirements.

Requirements

High school diploma, GED, or ability to pass a written TABE test.
Ability to read, write, and understand English.
Ability to follow simple verbal and written directions.
Excellent customer service skills.
Ability to stand for 8 hours or the duration of the shift.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to frequently stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, talk, hear, see, and perform repetitive motions; work may include moving light furniture.
Ability to use mops, buckets, cleaning solutions, vacuum cleaners, utility carts, floor-cleaning machines, wet/dry vacuums, and other equipment used in the department.

Responsibilities

Maintain the facility and environment in a clean, safe, and orderly condition for resident comfort and convenience.
Clean furnishings, fixtures, windows, mirrors, appliances, heating and cooling units, and other areas in resident apartments and shared spaces.
Clean floors and carpets using appropriate methods, including vacuuming, sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
Organize closets and drawers, make beds, straighten residents’ apartments as needed, and handle clean and dirty linen appropriately.
Place safety signs before performing tasks, use and store cleaning and disinfecting solutions according to policy, and dispose of waste in appropriate containers.
Maintain dining areas and kitchens in a clean and sanitary condition; wash, inspect, and store dishes, trays, and other ware.
Maintain assigned areas according to schedule, discard old food according to policy, clean equipment after use, and store cleaned items appropriately.
Deliver room-service trays, retrieve deliveries and shipments, store supplies, and accompany vendors during deliveries.
Assist with serving duties, dining-room cleaning, and special-event or celebration setup and takedown as needed.
Promptly report unsafe or hazardous conditions, defective equipment, and damage to fixtures to a supervisor.
Leave work areas clean and free of equipment and supplies during breaks and at the end of the workday.
Replenish food and other assigned supplies as needed and follow work and cleaning schedules.
Keep work areas free of hazardous objects and store cleaning supplies and equipment safely during and at the end of the shift.
Follow safety precautions, including universal precautions, isolation procedures, and chemical-labeling requirements.
Provide excellent customer service to residents, visitors, and staff.

Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, strong work ethics, and active participation in required meetings and training.
Comply with policies, procedures, codes of conduct, health and safety requirements, and HIPAA and other regulatory requirements; complete required training or certifications.
Identify and report or correct possible safety or environmental issues, and perform related duties as assigned.
